Digital Storytelling

Digital Storytelling "refers to using digital tools so that ordinary people can tell their own real-life stories." [x] This may include YouTube Videos, Digital Scrapbooks, Slideshows, Timelines and more. There has been a major trend in Hollywood to include the Digital Storytelling format in their programming such as on the sketch-comedy show Saturday Night Live and the YouTube channel turn Nickelodeon star FяED.

The use of the format in the field of Education is growing continuously with the advent of new technologies being available to teachers and students. Teachers are able to incorporate relative, 21st century techniques into their curriculum by having students use various programs to tell stories digitally in lieu of traditional methods of storytelling. Aside from using digital storytelling as a means to evaluate students, the medium also lends itself to use as a learning tool.
